Benefits of Rubber Flooring versus Tile

When comparing rubber flooring to tile, there are certain things you must consider: Where is the floor; what is the floor going to be used for; how dirty do think the floor will typically get? In most cases, if not all, a rubber floor will be cheaper, more durable, safer, and in some cases more attractive to look at. Let us take a look at some of the options presented by implementing a floor comprised of rubber versus that of tile.

Bathroom

Tile flooring can look very exquisite if you have the money to spend on the tile and the work to have it put in, but tile can be very slippery especially when wet. Rubber flooring on the other hand can also look very nice, and is extremely practical. Additionally, when it is wet, it is not nearly as slippery. This adds a great measure of safety in situations involving children and the elderly.

Children’s Room

The words “bouncing off the walls” come to mind here. A tile floor will be easy to clean up messes from in case Junior has an accident or drops his juice. But in cases when Junior takes a spill running through the room as kids often do, the tile is unforgiving and very slippery, increasing the chance of his fall. A rubber floor will give your child added cushion for the occasional fall, and the gripping of the rubber will prevent more falls overall than tile. As far as cleaning goes, rubber is extremely easy to clean. It does not contain fabric fibers that lock in dirt and stains. Typically, you’ll just need a gentle detergent or dish soap to scrub or mop up any spills.

Breezeway

Upon entering a house with tile, especially during winter, you are faced with a plethora of problems. These problems include and are not limited to muddy throw rugs, muddy cardboard and slippery, muddy tile. However, by changing your flooring plan to a rubber floor in the breezeway can make cleaning a much quicker and less painful endeavor. You can easily wipe the floor with a dry mop after guests pass through. And even wet rubber will be hard to slip on in the winter. All one would need to maintain it is occasionally cleaning it with a mop and detergent. Plus, you can find a wide variety of rubber flooring products that include pretty designs and vibrant colors to help welcome your guests.
