Rubber EVA
Rubber EVA
EVA stands for ethylene vinyl acetate. Rubber EVA is a plastic foam material made of ethylene vinyl acetate resin. However, this is a misnomer as the foam material does not actually contain any rubber. It actually got its name from its similar appearance to foam rubber. This material is also known as acetate.
EVA has many excellent qualities. It is both durable and flexible, and even remains tough in low temperatures. It also has heat-sealing properties and is resistant to UV radiation. Because it’s comparable in properties and uses to rubber and vinyl, it is used in electrical applications as well.
This material is also used to pad various sports equipment, such as ski boots, tennis shoes, and equipment used in hockey and mixed martial arts. It is a fine shock absorber, which is why it is popular in shoes and high-impact sports. It is also used to create exercise and gymnastics mats. EVA mats, like rubber mats, are available in many colors and in interlocking pieces. This makes these particular types of mats ideal for home fitness rooms, weight rooms, dance studios, and karate classes. It is also the material used to make hot-glue sticks and other adhesives.
