Rubber Floor

Rubber floor mats have many different uses, and as a result, come in a variety of shapes, styles, and colors. The type of mat appropriate for your office will not be appropriate for children in a day care center, and the mat you place in your basement will have different properties than the one used in a gym or weight room. These floor coverings have to fit in very different spaces, so some come in pre-cut sizes, while others have interlocking pieces.

The most common use is to protect the carpet, hardwood, or concrete beneath it. This is the primary function for them in an office or entrance way. Another common use is to provide a no-slip surface—entrance ways, garages, kitchens, and warehouses can have very hazardous floors, especially in cold, snowy months. A third use for these floor items is cushioning for people who spend long periods of time on their feet, or for exercising. They can also be used in basements to protect items from water damage and mold. They are easy to clean, sturdy, and hold up well in areas of high traffic.
