Wrestling Mat
A wrestling mat is a thick and sturdy rubber mat, primarily used for wrestling. They come in different layouts, including standard freestyle and international styles. The specific type you choose depends on the wrestling level and style you and your students practice. The standard layout has a smaller circle drawn inside a larger circle with referee/starting lines in the center; variations are available. You can also find wrestling pads in a variety of colors. This is useful if you are looking for one for your school or team, representing your team’s colors. A mat can be an expensive piece of equipment, but it can also last a decade or more with the proper care and maintenance. Some of them can be custom made or ordered, but if you are seeking one for competition at the high school or college level, they must meet standard sizes. The NCAA stipulates that they need to be 42' x 42'. The wrestling circle in college mats should be 32’.
